Pop down and have a gander.

This month we welcome the Jiggery Pokery girls. Lauren and Anna, who live in a labyrinth of Alice in Wonderland-esque imagery; a witty world of trickery and tomfoolery. Magicians of life-size illustration, they create handcrafted fantasies laden with glitter and kitsch using a mixture of art direction and set design. With the wave of a wand they will conjure up an enigmatic feast for
the eyes.
They met in Brighton whilst completing an Illustration Degree, but inspired by London’s energy Lauren and Anna returned to their hometown to embark on their Jiggery Pokery journey. Commissions galore, they have occupied their time producing work for major companies, such as Fallon and the BBC for BBC Blast, Nike and Showstudio and ongoing work with Chrissie Macdonald on the Orange ‘I am’ campaign. Live events include a Roller Disco for Vauxhall, a drawing competition at Nike Town, a human-operated fruit machine installation at the V&A. They have been contracted to create numerous window displays for companies – including Firetrap, Topshop, Nation of Shopkeepersin Leeds, Rest is Noise and YCN’s 72 Rivington St window. Editorial projects include a fashion story for Volume Magazine and a conceptual Perfume piece for Androgyny Magazine.
The collaboration of these two explosive energies provides consistently innovative works of art. Obsessed with trashy glamour and psychedelia, kitsch and ‘bad taste’ combinations of colours, materials and subject matter, Lauren and Anna clash their intriguing styles to form inexplicably stunning compositions. These two will stop at nothing to produce a bewildering visual display illustrating their outstanding abilities both individually and as a collective.
