Next up we have the wonderful Chrissie Abbott – an illustrator / designer / art director hybrid that has a penchant for typography and old photographs. Predominantly producing off-kilter collages, drawings and prints, her work is multidisciplinary to a tee, taking inspiration from a 1960s aesthetic intermingled with hyper-modern colour clashes. She has worked with an array of clients, specialising in the music industry, most notably creating visuals for Little Boots and the Asteroid No 4.

The Nook has loads of exciting happenings ready for 2010, including shows from Julia Pott and Chrissie Abbot to name a few. But first up is exciting artist and sculptor, Alex Chinneck.

Alex is a 25 year old London based artist, whos sculptures perform illusory tricks in pursuit of simple yet mesmerizing visual pleasures. Inflexible materials are manipulated beyond their apparent capabilities to transcend their material nature and distort our perception of what is physically possible. He’ll be showing four new sculptiures: Pick yourself up and pull yourself together, From the knees of my nose to the belly of my toes, Loopdeloop, and Kaboom.
